B+W UV filters #403 & #484

Hi gang,

Seems as if the B+W filters are priced a bit more friendly than the
Kodak Wratten 18A; both 403 (black) and 484 (deep violet) are $140
here in Holland, for a 72mm filter size.
Might be a little over $100 in Germany....will check that soon, and
check the price for a Cokin compatible square....and maybe order one
of these optical wunder toys....;-))

PS1: a friend has a huge collection of odd filters, including some
microscope UV-pass filters. I believe these are also Schott UG 1 and
3, like the B+W filters. Looking through one of these gives the same
fascinating experience as with the nearly opaque red filters as 89B and
88(A): the tonal range is completely reversed, flowers and plants
look way different than normally.

PS2: this Nikon UV/visible/IR flash is also mentioned in another
German book on IR, together with the Sunpak 622 IR flash.

PS3: I upgraded the filter table (brand conversion & absolute 0% and
50% transmission marks) on my homepage with these UV-pass and
IR-block filters:
