Biography
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
- Name: Ari Pesonen
- Profession: Librarian
- Country: Finland
- Personal history of photography
Serious amateur since 1969 (except a period of hibernation 1981-1986).
Member of a camera club. Occasionally some successful contributions to
exhibitions.
- preferred subjects:
nothing special and everything
- materials (film, filters, paper, chemistry):
I prefer Fuji's colour films for prints and slides, I currently also
use their colour paper. For B&W I use films in yellow boxes and
Ilford Multigrade.
Chemistry: Tetenal for colour prints, D-76 (or ID-11) for B&W films and
Agfa for B&W prints. I don't develop colour negatives or slides myself
(however, I do it sometimes) because I haven't any proper method to maintain
the high temperature.
I also use Polaroid 665 P/N in my home made view camera. It's expensive but
convenient.
My IR experience is almost non-existing. I'm with you to learn
something new.
- format (35mm/medium format/large format):
All of them. 35 for colour negative & slides, medium for colour
negative & B&W, sometimes slides, large for B&W. Most of my equipment
was made long ago, so they don't melt if you accidentally touch
them with a hot iron.
- Other strange hobbies:
Member of the Finnish Photohistorical Society.
- How did you find out about this list:
By accident. I was looking for information about Rollei.
- Expand on anything photographic you like:
I want to buy a lens hood (Gegenlichtblende) for Rolleiflex TLR, bayonet
size II. It's hard find here.
