In response to unsubscribe requests posted to the list, here a copy
of the message which you all received upon subscription:

Dear (new) subscriber,

Welcome to the unwordly world of infrared photography.

Please read the following instructions carefully (ALL of them!), and
store it in your archive at least *once*, not reading and storing it
is sufficient ground for spanking!....;-))

As you probably have noticed, subscriptions for this list are
handled manually by the listowner [that's me, wj].

In order to keep the subscription work load as low as possible, I
would like to ask you *NOT* to use UNSUBSCRIBE for holidays and such.
Instead, send
SET INFRARED-PHOTOGRAPHY MAIL POSTPONE to listproc@xxxxx,
and reactivate mail distribution after return by sending
SET INFRARED-PHOTOGRAPHY MAIL ACK to listproc@xxxxxx

Not only will this decrease work load for me, but it will also
reactivate distribution immediately, since these SET commands are
automatically handled by listproc [UNSUBSCRIBE is also handled
automatically btw].
With UNSUBSCRIBE and subsequent SUBSCRIBE you run also the risk of
me being away on holidays, and getting a worst-case delay of several
weeks.

However, for those who definately want to unsubscribe *FOR EVER*, send:
UNSUBSCRIBE INFRARED-PHOTOGRAPHY to listproc@xxxxx

- Digest:
To get the DIGEST version of this list, send:
SET INFRARED-PHOTOGRAPHY MAIL DIGEST to listproc@xxxxx
To return to the default realtime mode, send:
SET INFRARED-PHOTOGRAPHY MAIL ACK to listproc@xxxxx

- Mail:
All MAIL to the list should be sent to:
INFRARED-PHOTOGRAPHY@xxxxx

- Help:
For help on all other administrative matters, send
HELP in the body of the message to
listproc@xxxxx

So, now back to the real thing, infrared photography!

If you are a beginner in this fine art of photography, I strongly
advise you to read the IR FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) first.
You can find this FAQ through a link on the bottom of my homepage:

http://www.a1.nl/phomepag/markerink/mainpage.htm

[ Please note the correct spelling of 'a1.nl' in all adresses: it is
'a-one' & 'en-el' ! ]

In order to introduce yourself to the other members on the list, you
are invited to post a short biography (see below).
Sending your bio is not obligatory, but I think it is useful for
other members knowing where you are coming from and where you are
heading at (read: experience and future goals).

[to get an impression of my fields of interests, see my homepage]

Of course, lurking is allowed, as on any other list, but not encouraged....;-))
Remember: there are no stupid questions, only stupid answers. And even the latter
are allowed on this list....:-))

Please fill in this bio:
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
- Name:

- Profession/Study:

- Country:

- Personal history of photography

- preferred subjects:

- materials (film, filters, paper, chemistry):

- format (35mm/medium format/large format):

Please send this bio to the list:

infrared-photography@xxxxx
[ do not use a simple reply to listproc@xxxxx ! ]

Thanks for your contributions, now and in future!

                       Your listowner,

                       Willem-Jan Markerink
