Ben,

        I shoot infrared in my old K1000 several times a year without any 
problems.  In fact, HIE is the only reason the body was pulled from it's 
post-college retirement (living in a sock drawer).

        As a caveat, my K1000 is over ten years old, and might be different that 
yours.  I've heard that changes have been made to the K1000 over the years,
 but I don't know what they are. Mine has a dimpled film plate, but it's 
never left an image on HIE.
