SFX 200
Bill,
I have done limited testing with SFX 200. I like it but with peak red
sensitivity of 720 nm with extended red sensitivity to 740 nm I find the
response similar to Konica IR750. I think that the SFX has better
shadow detail than the Konica and within the limits of my testing to
date, lower contrast - at least it seems to have more latitude and
perhaps a contrast range that is easier to "dial in". I like the EI of
200 which makes the SFX easier to hand hold if required. For the SFX
200 is used an EI of 200 with a #25 red filter - processed in HC110B for
9 min. @ 20C. The negs look good. IMO the only reason to use the
Konica IR750 is the availability of the 120 film size.
BTW, I am also testing the Agfa APX 200 S which is very similar to the
SFX. IMHO, however good these films are, they "ain't HIE"
Cheers!
Dan Gordon
