I never was very good at getting the film onto the film reel until I
ordered the little gadget that is made by Kinderman that you attach
to their reel for ease in loading. I don't know if it works with other
reels besides their own brand, but I use it everytime I load film. I've
never had any trouble with IR or any other film when using it. I ordered
mine from Calument.
