I would still think that the pinholes were dust spots. It sounds like
there may have been dust in the area where you loaded the film. I've
used HSI up to, and slightly beyond, the expiration date without any
problems. Dust, however, is the biggest difficulty I have with this
film, and go through extraordinary lengths to minimize this.
