I can I am afraid say that this is not the case. I have been using the
HSI for 5 years now both for both work and private use. These 'pinholes'
do look very similar to dust but are not. (I have only had dust spots on a
few
of the 100 or so sheets I have processed this year) that's tempting fate :-)

I actually looked at them under a microscope. Dust spots tend to be very
sharp as the dust is actually sitting on the film when the picture is taken
and
also of varying shapes. These, however were always circular, totally clear
in the middle but with defused edging. The only way I can describe it
better
is that it was similar to the way mold looks when it grows, Strong in the
center
and then weaker as it spreads out. I have actually wondered since if it
might
of been a mold growth on the film (but this is very unlikely) or perhaps a
coating error on the that grew weaker with time resulting in the loss of the
actual emulsion.

I only mention this as if people think they are getting dust spots, it is my
opinion that there might be other reasons.
