Hi George,
The Nikon 35Ti does not have an IR sensor for film travel, it uses a low
friction plastic wheel (no teeth) to sense film movement. However, the
wheel probably turns a chopper wheel that intrupts an IR beam, and there
might be leakage through the wheel port into the film chamber (I have not
tried it out with HIE yet).
