Konica IR is a real IR film, although it doesn't go nearly as far into
the IR spectrum as HIE.  Ilford SFX is not an IR film, but an
extended-red film.  Konica is definitely more contrasty and finer
grained.  This can be inferred by the fact that most of us shoot HIE
around EI 250 and Konica around EI 8.

My suggestion is that you consider the nature of your image and how you
want the results to look when decided which film to use.  I have images
of both on my Web page and I purposely selected the film to match the
scene.  Obviously, this is personal choice, so your opinion may not be
the same as mine. <g>

The bottom line is that we are very fortunate to have a choice between
these two films.
