I have not had problems in this field yet, and I have loaded my EOS-1
in quite stressy circumstances, loading in a changing bag on a ski
slope, in very dry & cold weather.
Medium format seems a bit more difficult in general by the lack of a
good mounting point for the filter close to the film. Though they
also offer more room behind the mirror, for those without film plane
shutter that is.

Also: when using Konica with an opaque filter, you are almost
certainly doomed to using a tripod anyway because of effective film
speed. The 'sunny-sixteen' rule says that you are getting close to 1s
@ f16....
Yet it still might be useful for (extreme) wide angles, and of course
it will still be convenient even on a tripod....but less necessary as
when hand holding.
