filter between the rails

Hi all,

I'm thinking of trying to mount a filter between the filmrails. Looking
at the rails of my old Nikkormat and my F801S (8008S) I do not believe
there is sufficient space (I estimate appr. 0.6 mm) to mount a filter
(some sort of folie?). Could anybody tell me how much space I need? What
is this space at an EOS as this camera seems to be very suitable for
mounting a filter between the rails.
