Konica Misinformation

Recently the list has been preoccupied with the accuracy of information in
certain books about infrared film. I just want to nip this post in the bud
about Konica film. It IS a true infrared emulsion!!! Just because it does
not suit one person's defintion of infrared film is no reason to criticize
on the belief that it is NOT an IR emulsion. In fact it is the ONLY 120
format I.R. film. It does exhibit the response of a true I.R. film. True,
it is not the same response as Kodak HIE, but let's be accurate here and
not spread misinformation.
The posters response about Ilford SFX 200 is accurate. It was never
intended to be an I.R. emulsion, and to Ilford's credit has never been
marketed as such. Just for the record, Konica IR 750 is good stuff in its
own right. For those interested, Freestyle salesco in L.A. is closing out
it's stock of IR 750 in 120 format. The price is $4.99 per roll, U.S.
