Looking at Kodak Web pages, I guess that AR-5 is done with EA-5
chemicals, and that EIR is to be processed like aerial IR films.
look at http://www.kodak.com/productInfo/aerialSystems/TI0274.shtml
You will find that processing requires high temperatures (115 F
to 125 F and short times in each bath (27.6 to 110.4 seconds).
I doubt this can be done by hand or even with a Jobo processor ;-)
But the fact is that I was very disapointed by the colors in E-6
process. They are much less interesting than those of the old
Ektachrome IR film.
A question for all : What if you store EIR in a warm place ?
I presume that the IR sensitive layer will loss more sensitivity
than the others, and you can gain a less red rendering... So
the magenta dominant will turn to blue, and this can be corrected
by the use of a orange filter instead a yellow one.
Hm hm, not very scientific, and probably not easy reproductible...
but I will try to remove one of my unexposed EIR from the freezer
and made a comparaison... next spring (5 to 6 month of storage
must show the difference... or prove that storing EIR cold is
not necessary ;-)
