Nice, and I agree, contrasty- maybe pull the film 1/2 to a stop if you find you need more exposure to open up the shadows a bit- If I shoot in bright sun, I usually figure on some pull to help knock down the blown-away foliage.
On opening the film can in the light- how much of the problem is due to IR transmissive felt as opposed to light-piping film base would be easy to find out, but everytime I've got the film, I'd rather shoot it than *try* to fog it :) If it is the lack of halo backing, then light would be okay when downloading your film, but not when loading it.
