Dear Jaap Los, Bill Agee, and everyone,
The fellow that posted from England (was it?) mentioned that the
water contained iron. Perhaps iron could lead to a redox reaction
with the silver halides and cause those tiny holes in the emulsion.
I am still thinking about the possibility of chlorine in the water.
I've only experienced the effect twice and it was after I moved to
San Gabriel and used tap water.
Distilled water solved the problem for me.
Perhaps a phone call to KODAK's 800 number is in order. I'll try
calling them Monday morning.
BTW, I'm looking for a job as a biological science research
technician. If you know of anyone who might need a technician
with my skills (see resume on my home page) please let me know.
