Re: agitation - I do believe I do  agitate enough but I also do invert the
tank.  The tank gets rapped on the sink after each agitation and I have
never had an air bubble problem on normal films.  Actually, the pinholes in
the HIE don't appear to be due to air bubbles - they often have feathered
edges and are not always circles.  

Re: Kodak - As it happens I did call Kodak just today.  I described my
procedures in detail and they said nothing I was doing should cause
pinholes.  They asked me to send them a sample neg and the batch number of
the emulsion.  Before I part with a neg, I'll call them with the batch
number to see if they've had other reports.  The worst problems have
occurred in batch 2801 (with a "process before" date of 01/1998).  Guess
it's old with that date, but I keep it refrigerated until it goes in my
bag, so I assume the date is not a problem.
