Konica IR -> to contrasty..

Hi,

The last batch of negs i got from shooting Konica IR ( my second roll
ever, this film is rather new to me ) were to contrasty to my taste.
Printing them on grade 2 was still not soft enough. I exposed at 12 ASA
and developed in TMAX for 5.5 min. Does anybody have a suggestion for
improving this? Shortening the dev. time, different developer?
