No!  Assuming there are overlapping areas (which this technique
implies)  if you're going to sandwich chromes you have to reduce the
individual densities (via overexposure) for the combination to work out.

Now, I haven't seen the examples, but two-stop overexposed chromes sound
a little thin to me.  Perhaps since the "soft" slide will dominate it
will look ok.

Done many sandwiches, but never with IR---good luck!
