Halogen worklights, according to my Gossen color meter, are
just fine for copystand work.  At worst, covering the reflectors
with aluminum kitchen foil (dull side toward the lamp) is
all that is needed to cause the reflected light to be 
neutral in spectrum, in case the housing's reflector is of
some off-white color.  For color temperature stability, some
method of voltage regulation and a voltmeter would be nice
but not essential additions.
