Cleaning Kodak Wratten Gelatin Filters & Availability of 87B gel or

polyester filter?
Is there any way to safely clean a gel filter? I have an 87C with an oil
smudge on it and another gel with some tape adhesive residue on it. I tried
cleaning one gel with some lens cleaning solution, but it made it curl and I
wound up making more scratches in it, during the process.
Also does anyone know of a source of a thin 87B gel or polyester filter? I
want to mount one BTFR (between the film rails) of my camera. I read that
W.J. has a cokin sized version of this filter, but if I have to mess around
with taking a filter on and off my lens constantly, I'll probably never use it.
Thanks Rolland Elliott
