Konica 750 & polarizer

I know standard polarizer filters aren't very effective with the
longer IR seen by HIE, but I'm curious what other people's
experience has been using standard polarizers with Konica 750 and
red filters. At what wavelength does a standard polarizer begin
to lose effectiveness?

It occurred to me to try this combination recently when I was
swapping a lens back & forth between a camera loaded with Konica
and one loaded with Pan F, and I was surprised how effective the
polarizer was. It doesn't brighten the IR effect, of course, but
does seem to further darken the sky without darkening the clouds,
reduce reflections on the water, and bring out more detail in
evergreen trees.

If you're interested, you can see the Pan F and Konica shots at
http://www.wolfenet.com/~josh/photo/insp_pt.html, but I didn't
scan in the non-polarized Konica since I liked the polarized one
so much more.
