grain and contrast

I saw a lot of discussions on developers recently on the list.

Untill now, I did not have the time (or will ?) to develop myself, but I
know I will have to do it to obtain exactly what I want, which is: very
contrasty and grainy pictures with a lot of halo.
I found that overexposure increases the halo effect pretty well, but I
wonder if someone could recommend a special combination of
developer/dilution/temperature/time etc. to have contrast and grain.
Will Rodinal do the job?
