I use an opaque IR gelatin filter that I have customized to fix over the
end of my canon flash like a thin rectangular card tube the same
dimensions as the end of the flash. the filter is the front 'wall' of
this and when slid on to the unit sits against the lens of the flash. No
light leaks - easy to make and to use. Invisible in operation unless you
look directly at it, when you can spot a faint dark red 'blip'
