I agree with you. Never had any problem with films inside my carry-on
luggages. On a lot of x-ray machines (in France) you can read
"safe up to 1600 ISO" with a pictogram of a camera.
I think you can trust this in any country where there is a medical
attention to workers : If you increase the level of X-ray, you can
expose too much the people in charge of the machine, so this kind
of equipment is regularly checked. I think also (someone to confirm ?)
that the amount of X-ray will probably decrease as the source get
older... then the X-ray level will not increase between two
maintenace...
