I'll do you one better...

Five years in the freezer, one year in the camera(vision problems caused
me to put the cameras down and I had bigger concerns than film sitting in
the camera), no fogging whatsoever.

I just tried my first roll of EIR and it got really mistreated. I loaded
it in the shade, at high noon on a sunny day. Took it to a lab that said
they knew how to handle EIR but they didn't. They took the cassette out of
the canister(you know, the one that says to only open in total darkness)
to make sure it was E-6 process. They then called me to say they couldn't
handle it. I then took it to the local pro lab who did know what they were
doing and had it processed. No fogging. Nice black base. Even has some
decent images!

My conclusions are that you should load and unload HIE in total
darkness only, EIR in subdued light. Leaving HIE in the camera for
extended periods is OK but I still believe in processing it as soon as
possible.
