Yes, that's what I meant - but I suspect the times I read were for full
strength, whereas I used the same time, but diluted 1 part XTOL to 1 part
water.

I set the camera's meter for ISO 200, like I always do with HIE. I used a
25a filter. I loaded the film in total darkness (well, you could see a
faint line of light between the bathroom door and the frame, but I've not
had noticable fogging problems from that in the past - and fogging would
make the film more shaded, not more clear, right?). The negs were almost
completely clear (if you look really, really hard, you can almost make out
outlines). Normally, with HIE, the IR film counter fogs the bottom sprocket
holes, and that did happen here, but very faintly - not the solid full
density fogging that usually occurs.
