properties of materials in IR

I am interested in organizing a summary of the properties of various
materials in the very near infrared spectrum. This could include the
translucency of various cloths (and other materials commonly provided in
sheet form), but would hopefully go beyond this to include the
absorptivity/reflectivity of various opaque materials. In addition to
personal experiences that provide a subjective statement (e.g., black nylon
cloth is fairly [highly?] translucent but cotton cloth is fairly opaque, or
black polyurethane is strongly absorbent, or living plant leaves have low
absorptivity), I will attempt to include references to printed material,
web sites, ..., that provide more thorough compilations, but will not be
checking the accuracy or information content of the references, nor will I
try to resolve conflicts between ratings. Of course, the more specific the
information is, then the more useful it is likely to be.

Please forward information to me during the next three weeks for
anticipated posting to the infrared newsgroup sometime in November. If I do
not make a posting, then the amount of information received was too little
to bother with. If the information is possibly relevant, then please do
forward it. I look forward to your responses. Thank you!
