It seems a bit extreme to brand a whole camera line as unsafe ... even if only
IR unsafe. There are a variety of models to choose from and there are major
advantages to be derived from using a novel film counter such as in special
Canon cameras.
I don't think "safety" is the issue ... the presence of a an IR controlled film
movement sensing mechanism in some models that might cause unacceptable fog to
some photographers ... that is an issue, sure. But this has nothing to do with
"safety". In my opinion anyway.
