Autofocus lenses fo IR?

I shoot IR with Nikkor autofocus lenses using a #25 red filter and
though I think my lenses are marked with the red dot for the IR focus
adjustment, I just always shoot at a f11 or smaller, (I've even gotten
away with an f8 before), and ignore making the manual adjustment and
have never had a problem with the focus. (If that's any help at all).
