Dear Sharon,

If I remember correctly, Dick Johnson at Kodak told me that the pinholes 
were from particles in an anti-static coating migrating into the photo 
emulsion. Nothing you or a pro lab can do will eliminate "pinholes" that 
are the results of missing photo emulsion.

My solution is to scan the HSI, retouch in Photoshop and make digital 
prints (on my amazing Epson Stylus Photo). It may not be archival, but 
the pinholes are gone.
