I think that is far more practical, but at the time I was told this was 
before computer became so ubiquitous
I have not yet been bitten by the pinhole bug. Could it

I doubt it, because one roll in the same tank with others can be 
effected significantly while others can show no holes.  It also 
seems to run in emulsion batches

Nitrogen burst agitation is really great.  I am jealous of a friend who 
has a small B&W lab with these kind of tanks.  Agitation is an 
issue with any film and over agitation, and even some commonly 
used forms of agitation can have a bad effect on film.  The old half 
moon style that was recommended to me by so many photo 
teachers int he past, was discouraged when I went to MPW.  They 
said it often caused a slight density build up on the top and bottom 
of the frame and recommended a 180 degree inversion method 
once a minute for 10 seconds (12 inversions in the 10 seconds) I 
have used it ever since because It is a method that I am able to do 
very consistently.
