Infrared Lamps

Has anyone used the infrared heater lamps for portraiture with infrared
film?  Here, they come inn 250 watt standard socket flood lamps for use
in bathrooms, restaurants, etc.  I was thinking of using them for nudes
and not using a filter--the ought to be a good way to keep the model
warm.  Plus, they are relatively inexpensive at less than 4 dollars. 
Any suggestions for beginning exposures?
