Workable HIE Speeds

hullo mates ! ;)

Gotta ask you all something. I currently reside in the Equator in a
place called Singapore. So it's really bloody sunny here all the
time. And the Sun's rays come to us direct rather than being
deflected by the atmosphere like in places North & South of us.

What I need to ask is, what max workable speed has anyone
ehere ever had with HIE ?

I'd like to work handheld, and have tried a Hoya #25 on a camera
set to ISO 200 (as kodak recommends)

As you can guess, the exposure times I get are hardly friendly for
shooting with smaller apertures(f 11/16).

I was wondering if anyone has ever shot HIE at 800 (or faster) and
know if the results were good ?

Also, I intend to do free form portrait work with it. Which means I'd
like to use the AF on my F90X. So I prolly won't be finding the
focus and than adjusting for the shift for IR, which takes too long.

I basically want to work fast

So I gotta ask, does the method of shooting HIE on AF mode with
say, small apertures like f 11 / 16 , produce pictures sufficiently in
focus without having to manually focus the lens + compensating for
the shift in IR?

Thanks :)

P.S. Is the 50mm/f1.8 Nikkor AF a good lens with HIE ?
