HIE in small cameras

Hello all,
I'm a graduate student in geology, and I'm just finishing up my degree at
the University of Nebraska (Lincoln, Nebraska). For several years, I've
messed around with black-and-white photography in my work and as a
hobby.
I've been on the infrared list for a year or so, and I want to thank all
the people who've posted their advice, knowledge, and experiences with
infrared film. I've been able to shoot many successful rolls of Kodak HIE
(with only a few minor catastrophes).
Some time ago there was a thread discussing the use of HIE in
small point-and-shoot cameras (indoor at parties, receptions, etc.). I
believe someone mentioned placing an 87 wratten filter over the built-in
flash and using DX-coded labels with cameras that don't allow manual
setting of the film speed.
Anyways, i would like to hear comments and experiences from anyone who
has used HIE in this manner. And specifically, i was wondering what would
be a good ASA setting to try with an 87 filter over a built-in flash?
...and where can I buy "stick-on" DX-coded labels?
Cheers,
Steven Bohaty
