This has been discussed here many times and until recently I thought it
kind of strange.
However they appeared (pin holes in the film emulsion and hence the
negative) on my last roll of
HIE. This had been x-rayed once in hand luggage.
According to members on this list earlier, it was a result of problems
Kodak had in the manufacturing process.
