The washers I use have individual slots which allegedly prevent cross
contamination (Nova). But Karin, it is not necessary to wash constantly.
Much of the washing out process is through diffusion so you only need to
turn on the washer from time to time to replace the water with fresh. Nova
also make a unit which has a couple of slots for HCA in front of the wash
slots
