To Patrick Magee concerning an IR camera:

I agree with advise given to find an old rangefinder camera and adapt it. If
you can put up with the one-lens limitation and a squinty viewing system,
many older cameras are compact, cheap and good shooters.

John Butterworth's suggestion for some older Nikon equipment may not work
out for two reasons: 1)The light meters are based on 1.35v mercury cells, no
longer available. AFAIK, the new replacements have a very short life.
2)Replacement parts for the light meter are no longer available.

I had to set aside my old FTN system (3 cameras, 7 lenses) because the light
meters are not repairable. Cosmetically, the cameras look fine, and work
very well, but the metering system is very unreliable - believe me!.
