travellig with infrared film

Hi everybody,
I will be travelling to overseas this week. I thought it would be good idea
to take some infrard film (kodak HIE BTW) I know in USA I can ask for hand
inspection but they say that in Europe it's a problem. Do the Xray machines
fog the IR film? I know infra red light is on the other side of the
spectrum, so it seems to be safe but the films are expensive, I don't want
to lose 10 rolls all at once. Thanks.
