Rodinal will give you the highest possible grain. This is why this developer is a staple
when I shoot slow film, but I use Xtol when I go to the higher speed stuff (like HIE).
However, if this is what you are looking for, then I can suggest 1+75 70F 7 minutes as a
starting point. This works for me, when I shoot at EI 250 when metered through a #25
filter.
Be very careful before sending it to the pro lab. I'll assume that they know not to open
the cannister in the light. However, if they use TMax to develop their B&W film you may
wish to reconsider. I found the developer is way too hot for HIE.
