HIE negs might be A LITTLE more dense than normal b&w negs. With my
condensor enlarger, I often have to print them about one stop slower
than standard bw.

ASA 800 sounds rather fast. For daylight shots with a Wratten #29, I
usually set my camera's lightmeter to ISO 320 (dev. in D-76 (stock), 20
°C / 68 °F, 11 min.). BTW, If you are not 100% sure about the correct
exposure for a special situation, you should always bracket over at
least +/- one stop.
A greenhouse might hold some "traps" for IR-photographers: 1.) If you
meter from dark green leaves, your TTL meter, which only records visible
light, will indicate a long exposure time. Leaves, however, are strong
IR-reflectors. You are very likely to get overexposed pics...
2.)Just an idea: Were there any electric bulbs in the greenhouse? If
yes, this might also partially explain your results: Electric bulbs emit
a lot of IR radiation - which is of course recorded by HIE, but not by
your light meter...

Probably too long. John Mided's "Massive Dev Chart"
(http://www.digitaltruth.com), usually a very reliable source of
information, recommends 13 min.
