Martin,

Ultrafin are 13 mins at 20C so your developing time is probably too long.
Meters all differ regarding how well they respond to infrared light. There
really is no substitute for shoooting a few test rolls with your chosen
camera, filter and developer combinations.
There is a guide which some people have found useful in section 12 of the
Infrared FAQ: "Exposing - Film Speeds and Rating for Filters".
In full sunlight with a lot of greenery around you, there will be a lot of
reflected infrared light. My guess is that there was also overexposure.
So there you have it - the worst case scenario and one which I have
experienced when tryng to use long exposures and pushing the film when
there was far too much infrared light coming from a small source in the
scene. It's amazing how HIE acts as a light pipe - in one frame the film
rebate was also exposed :-)
