Are you sure that you really want sharp grain with HIE?  If so, then I can
tell you that Rodinal will give you what you seek.  However, be careful
for what you ask, because the high acutance offered by Rodinal will also
make your grain look considerably larger and will be more noticeable (then
again, this may be what you are after).

Developers like Xtol, D76, etc., eat away at the grain and make it less
noticeable.  This is why they are excellent choices for faster films (I
use it for films faster than EI 100).  Rodinal is wonderful for leaving
the grain alone, which will increase your acutance.  I use it for my
slower films.

In the above, I am speaking only of the 35mm variety.  When you move to
large format, things change considerably.  In that instance, I use Rodinal
as my developer of choice for HSI.
