Travel to Isreal

Hi Everyone:

I know this has been discussed before so please bear with me.  I will be going
to Isreal later this year and intend to take a  wrapped brick of Kodak HIE 35 mm
film with me.  Can I put it through the scanner in Chicago and can I put the
exposed film through the scanner in Tel Aviv on the return trip?   We were told
by the travel agent to put all film (My wife intends to take regular color print
film)  in lead packages.   I seem to recall that the discussion deceided that
major airports in major countries were okay?   Any help as usual will be greatly
appreciated !!!
