The last Mercury Oxide battery production in Europe was carried out by 
Varta in Germany at the end of 1998.  Since that time there have been no 
more produced - something to do with the new green tendencies of German 
politicians.... 
 
I also understand that England is the only EU country that still allows 
sale of old/existing stock of mercury oxide batteries.  The batteries have 
been banned from sale in Europe and North America. 
 
If you need these batteries and have a source then buy a few at the same 
time as the Tetenal slide kit :-) 
 
What is better about the Tetenal kit compared to the Kodak reversal kit?
