Well, my conjecture is that to explain jokes and art and other forms of
expression there
must be a BIOS that is part of our evolution and it is Biphasic. Right now
we are in
a "survival mode" like a chipmunk chased up a tree, but he doesn't like it
and if he
were human he would make expressions of protest and hope that the threat
leaves so
he can get down and be comfortable. It is an easy choice for a chipmunk,
because
there are no job opportunities or food up there, but even though we have to
lock doors
and all the rest we have found a way to live that frozen exisitance. So,
change may do
us good, if we can relax and get a good nights sleep. It is the only thing
that explains
why sharing feels good and not sharing feels bad....you can play with
it...it is just a
game. You can look from both sides, too. Chuck There are concrete
examples
in chimps and you can look at the development of our brain from the limbic
system to
the inhibitory nature of the frontal cortex right now.
