You should contact Dr. Dennis Tiche at Ford city Equipment in Ford City,
PA.  His specialty is growing pure crystals and he could probably grow some
lenses that were optically perfect fluoride.  It is a simple solution and
.....
HLM would say it could not work...maybe he wanted to fiddle faddle around
putting things on paper.
