Absolutely.  When people take things into their own hands, they begin to
understand what control is all about.  Great move.

Rodinal leaves the grain alone, which is why it allows all the acutance the
film will provide.  This is wonderful with the slow films, but the faster films
will have the grain clusters displayed prominently.  Of course, this may be the
look some people are after - similar to using Rodinal with Tri-X.  If, however,
this is not the look of your choice, switching to Xtol or D76 will eat away at
the grain clusters and offer a smoother look.  

BTW, Rodinal works wonders with HSI, the 4X5 equivalent of HIE.  The larger
size of the film makes a considerable difference.
