Yep. Ilford MG IV is a very versatile, very forgiving paper ;-)

Not really, it rather sounds like your HIE negs are a little
underdeveloped. ;-)
Regarding density, there shouldn't be significant differences between
HIE and other BW films. 
IMHO (I know, some people on this list won't agree with me) the
development times given by Kodak for HIE in D-76 are simply too short,
while the times for other developers (e.g. XTOL) are correct. Don't ask
me why - this whole thing has been discussed over and over again on this
list and in other places...

My personal development time for HIE in D-76 (stock solution) is
considerably longer than Kodak's: 11,0 min. @ 20°C, exposure (in
general) as recommended on the film's data sheet (!).
