RE: Question about EIR

>>Is there anything that can be done to improve
sharpness with EIR?

Not that I know of. Well actually you can shoot Medium Format Color IR film
which what I primarily shoot now a days. MUCH MUCH MUCH sharper and less
grain with 6x7 slides with 4x the area. I usually just project my slides and
don't make prints, but the 3 or 4 ciba chromes from 35mm slides I've done
look plenty sharp at 11x14 to me.

>>>Any theories regarding the origins of the scratches?

The films emulsion is a little more sensitive than other slide films,
probably just careless lab technique.

>>>Finally, I think it would be good for users to discuss interesting things
>>>to photograph with EIR.

Go to an air show with cool helicopters and jet planes. I went with a friend
a few years ago. He shot Fuji Provia and I shot Color IR film; the day was
kind of overcast. My planes had a nice royal blue background with sharp
smoke trails. His shots looked washed out and dreary with a drab sky.

Shoot some one with cool tattoes. Color EIR will give very nice results even
wiht older faded tattoes.

People are fun to shoot with this film. Especially for "fashion" type shots.
If you want natural skin tone plenty of makeup is necessary.
